Description

We are seeking a Middle / Senior Environment Artist who will bring immersive worlds to life by designing and building detailed, believable, and optimized environments. As a Senior 3D Environment artist, you will take ownership of major environment art tasks—from concept interpretation to final asset implementation—while ensuring cohesion with the game’s artistic style. This role requires strong artistic sensibility, technical awareness, and a passion for storytelling through environments. You will also play a key role in mentoring other artists and elevating the overall visual quality of the project.

Compulsory Requirements

  • At least 4~7 years’ professional video game development experience 
  • Strong understanding of Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer, and Unreal Engine. 
  • Ability to create high-quality, game-ready, efficient 3d assets (weapons, vehicles, props). 
  • Willingness to receive and appropriately respond to critique from the Art Lead and others in the team. 
  • Passion for making and playing innovative games. 
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, team player with a positive and a ‘can-do’ attitude. 
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented. 

Bonus Point!

  • Knowledge or familiarity with the gaming industry or CG industry is an advantage. 
  • Knowledge or familiarity with Photogrammetry / Reality Capture Tool is a plus! 
  • Experience in managing a small group of artists is a plus. 
  • JLPT N2 proficiency (or equivalent) is definitely a plus because we have Japanese members in the team. 
  • Experience with Unreal Engine scripting language is a plus. 

Key Responsibilities as an Artist

  • Create high-poly detailed sculpts and textures for buildings, environments, and other assets (props, etc.) according to project needs in high-quality. 
  • Create high-quality, accurate low-poly 3D models and textures based on reference materials such as reference photos, CAD files, and technical drawings. 
  • Apply 3D modelling, UV mapping, texturing, baking, and lighting techniques to produce optimized game-ready assets. 
  • Review and evaluate 3D assets and provide feedback or recommendations for improvements. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the integration of outsourced 3D assets into the production pipeline. 
  • Ensure all 3D artwork meets project quality standards, technical specifications, and performance requirements. 
  • Collaborate with team members to address challenges, align on style direction, and resolve production issues. 
  • Understand project requirements and deliver high-quality 3D assets that follow the defined artistic vision and technical constraints.
