Requirements
- Proven experience as a 3D character artist, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software such as Maya, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, form, and proportion as it relates to character design.
- Experience with rigging and skinning characters for animation.
- Excellent texturing and shading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Leadership experience and the ability to mentor and guide junior artists.
- A passion for gaming and a deep understanding of character design principles.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 3D character artists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality work.
- Create highly detailed and visually appealing 3D character models, including textures, materials, and shaders.
- Collaborate with the art director, concept artists, and other team members to develop and maintain the artistic vision for characters.
- Ensure that all character assets meet technical requirements and are optimized for performance.
- Oversee the entire character creation pipeline, from initial concept to final implementation in the game engine.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continually improve the quality and efficiency of character production.
- Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to character creation and implementation.
- Participate in project planning and provide estimates for character-related tasks.
