Job Requirements

• At least 7-10 years' experience in related field.
• Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N1 or above.
• English language proficiency equivalent to CEFR C1 or above.
• 3 or more years of experience in translation in any industry.
• 2 or more years of experience in verbal interpretation in any industry.
• Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.
• Excellent knowledge of content editing tools.
• Familiarity with translation software.• Good time-management skills.
• Posses leadership qualities.
• Valid certificate of accredited interpreting training is a plus.
• Knowledge in the gaming industry is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Translate from Japanese to English and vice versa for meetings, technical reports and emails.
• Has good knowledge of the workflows in the art development environment.
• Able to perform as an interpreter in art development environment and ensure smooth progression of meetings.
• Consistent quality of work while staying on schedule.
• Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone.
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy.
• Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs.
• Provide guidance to junior to mid-level translator.
